This edition of the Orbitz Insider Index reveals both where travelers are celebrating this holiday weekend and where they will find some of the biggest savings for a late-summer escape.

While Las Vegas and New York retain the top spots in the Index, a number of other positions have changed with Cancun and Honolulu moving up in the ranking. What's particularly notable is that the average cost of a hotel has decreased significantly year-over-year in many of the top destinations, with the biggest savings being seen in Seattle (-33%), Honolulu (-26%), Cancun (-24%) and New York (-22%).
